Farrelly, Peter

A lifelong supporter of Cavan, Peter passed away at the noble age of 95 this past January. He was predeceased by one sister and 10 brothers, many of whom had played for Kingscourt Stars alongside him in the 1940s after which he emigrated to America for 20 years. He returned home to his native Drumbar in the early 1960s and was actively involved in farming activities before retiring in Kilmainhamwood Retirement Village. He had always had a great interest in GAA, especially in hurling, and loved talking about the great Cavan football teams of the 1940s and 1950s. His funeral took place at the Church of Immaculate Conception in Kingscourt. Peter is survived by  brother Frank (Dublin) and nephews, nieces and sisters-in-law.
