Great sadness was felt in the Ballymachugh area during August with the passing of Mrs Phyllis Galligan. A member of a large family, she was an avid supporter of Ballymachugh GAA all of her life and was well known for standing up for players on her team if she didn't feel they were getting fair play. Her funeral mass was celebrated before a huge congregation at St Mary's Ballynarry.
