The decision comes after Mayo county board confirmed that the would be "ceasing all contact" with Tim O'Leary

The Mayo International Supporters Foundation is set to close.

The decision comes just days after Mayo county board confirmed that they would be "ceasing all contact" with Tim O'Leary following a tweet from the group’s millionaire chairman last Sunday which called for senior football manager James Horan to be ousted from his post.

Speaking on the Mayo News Football Podcast, Horan said he wasn’t concerned over Mr O’Leary’s comments.

“Not any more. Maybe it did and look, everyone reacts differently. I’m so busy… we’ve 40 guys in here and a support team and everyone is trying their utmost to develop and grow,” said the Ballintubber man.

“I think everyone saw the statement that was ratified by the executive and I think that really clarified or closed the situation.

“My job is to ensure the players are in the best place they can be playing football and Liam Moffatt, who is chairman of the board and who I am working with very, very closely on a lot of different initiatives and policies that will hopefully improve the academy and the linkage right through to the senior team.

“There’s a huge amount of brilliant work that Liam is coordinating there and I’m very happy to be helping him on that. That’s Liam’s remit and where he’s looking at. I’m just looking at the football side of things.”

This week saw the Mayo Roscommon Hospice thanking the foundation for a €50,000 donation.
