Cork's Patrick Horgan celebrates his goal against Limerick

Patrick Horgan will captain the Cork hurlers next year.

The Echo newspaper is reporting that the Glen Rovers sharpshooter will take over the role from Seamus Harnedy, who skippered the Rebels in 2018 and '19. The outgoing vice-captain won his fourth All-Star award a fortnight ago, but lost out to Tipperary's Seamus Callanan for the Hurler of the Year accolade.

'Hoggie' previously captained Cork in the 2012 championship after Donal Óg Cusack was injured in the Allianz League semi-final.
