Holders Imokilly advanced to the semi-final stages of this year’s Cork SHC after withstanding a late Newcestown rally in Pairc Ui Rinn today.

Two stoppage time Newcestown goal threatened to derail the divisional side’s defence of their crown but they scraped home by the bare minimum – 1-22 to 2-18.

Paudie O’Sullivan netted their goal while centre-forward William Leahy took the scoring honours with a return of 0-10.

UCC will provide their opposition in the last four after the students prevailed against Sarsfields on a scoreline of 0-20 to 1-14.

The winners led by 0-9 to 0-7 at the halfway stage and with Shane Conway in top scoring form they booked their place in the last four.

The Kerry star raised 10 white flags for UCC.

Last year's defeated finalists Blackrock will be up against Midleton in the other last four clash.
