Another link with Cork's 2010 All-Ireland SFC winning team has been severed after Donncha O'Connor announced his inter-county retirement after this evening's heavy All-Ireland qualifier loss to Tyrone.
The 37-year-old Ballydesmond attacker won an All-Ireland JFC medal in 2005 before making his senior inter-county debut against Dublin the following year. Aside from the 2010 Sam Maguire success, he has four Munster SFC medals and four Allianz League medals to his name.
O'Connor replaced Brian Hurley in the 46th minute, but couldn't make an impact as the Rebels crashed to a 0-13 to 3-20 defeat in Portlaoise.
Paul Kerrigan was the only other survivor from the 2010 starting line-up to see action this evening.
Tweet@thedonch2012 confirms that he has called time on his inter-county career and outstanding servant to @OfficialCorkGAA footballers as well as his club @ballydesmondgaa and @DuhallowGAA and a pleasure to deal with over many years.
