"This win is for those two boys"

A Clare club struck by horrific tragedy last year dedicated its recent U21 hurling championship to the two members they lost 12 months ago.
A fatal car crash last Easter Sunday claimed the lives of 18-year-old Oisin Cahill and Darragh Killeen (19) – both of whom were members of the Kilmaley panel which had lost out in the U21HC 'A' final to Inagh/Kilnamona only a few days previous.
Last Saturday week saw the club’s U21 stars back on the very same stage at Cusack Park, where they delivered an emphatic 3-17 to 1-7 triumph over Crusheen-Tubber to claim the title.
Speaking to The Clare Champion after the game in Ennis, Kilmaley manager Kieran Murphy was quick to dedicate the victory to the two young victims.
“What we woke up to last Easter Sunday morning was horrific and I think this win is for those two boys because it will bring our community together,” Murphy stated.
