Senior championship final. A real tasty affair.

The synic in me is wondering if either team has any sort of pull with County Board. Rumours of injuries on both sides.

Or is there some rule that there has to be 2 weeks between semi and final or final and replay? I'm just also wondering why the Cootehill v Cavan Gaels went ahead a few weeks ago. I can't imagine Breffni is any worse now than it was then.

One team had injuries. The pitch has a lot of water sitting on it. Why not call it of before players were travelling and supporters were too.

Poor show that the Longford final went ahead & Cavan had to cancel. Rain everywhere this last 48 hrs & matches in every other ground so wud assume we will hear sum other excusess

Tyrone also had to call off their replay.
Kingscourt might have been an option but half the Ramor crowd were in Breffni at u14 match before it was called off.

Think your being very harsh. I've someone in hospital and was in cavan from 12 o clock and it rained cats and dogs from then until 3 :30 . I heard the game was off and left Cavan town . There were floods on the roads never mind on pitch . Some people just love complaining. Don't think the kingscourt club would let it go ahead on their pitch either . Why would they want their pitch dug up either. Think the right call was made only timing could have been better. Really looking forward to next Sunday. Hearing now Ronan Flanagan could be out (knee). Enda could be playing. Jack Brady a big doubt. Some big players missing. Intriguing. Can't wait .

Game could have and should have been moved to another ground. There are plenty of pitches in the county with a better surface than Breffni which would have been well able to deal with the weather. How the county board don't have contingency plans in place for this type of thing is beyond me? It's not like the weather was a surprise - it's been forecast all week. They better contact some clubs this week to make sure they have alternatives lined up.

Did the Under 14 match between Ramor Utd and Cuchulainns which was scheduled as a curtain raiser to the Senior Final go ahead in Kingspan Breffni Park yesterday?

It was moved to 3G pitch.
It was raining from early yesterday morning. An early inspection could have meant that the game was moved to somewhere like Kingscourt.
They should have expected this with an Intermediate game on Sat night and rain sat and sun.

seanorinn is on here on every subject possible and the only subject he would have an insight into (i.e the pitch) hes no where to be seen. So tell us sean why was it left so late to call off the game?

So the only subject I would have any insight into is the county pitch so my reply to you Brefffi81 is ask those that would know more than I, sure what would I know about the county pitch or anything that happens with any subject on here. Long time around a long time a club member and a long time watching the game that I have no insight into. They had an option to wear flippers so they could play but no one brought there reserve gear with them. They had that option but along with not having their second kit some could not swim.

Never mind the leg pullers Sean...everybody knows the good work you do in Breffni park.. the one thing you can't do is control the weather.. the downpour around Lunchtime was serious and at that stage I feared the match would be postponed...

I would imagine that with no curtain raiser there is a possibility of this match been delayed by 10/15 minutes.

Looking forward to this match. The extra week should help both teams get over some of the injuries. Now hope the weather holds up.

Heard today that Enda was getting second yellow card only collision happened. If this is true it was a cop out by ref. He was already on yellow and both teams should have finished with 14. Really looking forward to the replay. I just hope it's a close game and we get value for money. Castlerahan by 3 . Ramor missed their chance .

Why would it be delayed from the scheduled starting time. I would expect this match to start on time no reason for it not too.
Weather is good pitch is heavy in parts but ready for football.

What a stupid comment. The ref was hardly going to give him a yellow card and him being stretchered off.

If the referee felt he deserved another yellow card well he was duty bound to follow through with the action and follow it with a red regardless if he was being carried off on a stretcher or not. That is off course the referee was intending to give him another yellow for the poster is only going it would seem on hear say??

I think Marita the comment was not stupid at all but your reply would indicate your knowledge of the rules.
