Gradam Bhreifne Award
Cavan Town CCE are presenting a Gradam Bhreifne award to Paddy McDermott, Cornafean in recognition of his work in promoting traditional Irish music over the years.  This is taking place on this  Saturday night 25th January in McSeains Lounge Cornafean at 9 pm.  This award is well deserved as Paddy has been promoting irish traditional music through Scor, Fleadh Cheoil, Cornafean Ceili Group, Wren Boys etc. and also through his involvement in local sessions such as Mary Bradys, Ballinagh and Kellys, Killeshandra.  Many guest musicians will perform at this very special occasion and this promises to be a great night of entertainment full of music, song and stories.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Patricia, daughters Sheila, Breege, Rosemary, Eileen, Ann, Colette and Ashling, adored grandchildren, sons in law, Ann,s partner Gerry, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
Tommy will be fondly  remembered as a hard working family man and after initially spending some years in McCormac Products  Killeshandra, he concentrated his efforts on the family farm and agricultural contracting.
He was laid to rest on Wednesday afternoon after funeral mass in St. Michael's Church, Potahee officiated by Fr. Sean McDermott.  May Tommy rest in peace.
