There are reports that the new Wicklow senior football manager will be announced next week.

Already former Meath footballer Trevor Giles, Ex-Wicklow star Kevin O’Brien, Baltinglass manager Paul Garrigan and St Patrick’s manager Gail Dunne have withdrawn from the race to succeed John Evans.

However, two names still prominent are former Dublin footballer Vinny Murphy and Paul Kelly who managed the Kildare ladies in the past.

But, the favourite is Ex-Cavan manager Val Andrews and the Wicklow People reports that the Dublin native could be announced as early as next week.
