Cornafean 0 - 19 Shercock 0 - 8
Cornafean U11 ladies are the Group B Autumn League Co Champions after a well merited victory over Shercock played in Bunnoe on Sunday afternoon.
This excellent group of young ladies had an excellent run in the competition, a significant victory over Butlersbridge in the semi final being stand out game and went into Sundays final in a confident mood. Under the management of Mary Sweeney and Deirdre Tully the team in Red put in an excellent performance dominating throughout the park in many sectors and taking many excellent scores when the chances were presented to them. There were great scenes of joy among the players and supporters as joint captains Mary Kilkenny and Ava Kinsella accepted the cup on behalf of the victorious Reds. Well done to all involved and also well done to the gallant girls from Shercock.

CLUB NOTES
Division 2
Reserve Championship Final
Ballinagh 1 - 14 Cornafean 1 - 6
A brave effort from the hard working Reds but a powerful second half from ballinagh brought them an 8 pt victory in this Division 2 Reserve Championship Final. Cornafean stayed in contention in the first half with an opportunist John Martin goal and five points from C. Cosgrove, A. Caffrey and J. McGahern to leave just one point between the teams at the break..Ballinagh 0-8 Cornafean 1-4. A cracking goal from Thomas Smith early in the second half drove Ballinagh onto victory and unfortunatley then there was no way back for the Reds. The players kept at it but were not able to penetrate a dogged Ballinagh rear guard and the Reds only consolation were two J. McGahern frees. Hard luck to the team on their last match of the 2018 season and thank you to the team management of Brian Doyle, Art McSeain, Liam Young and Paul Kelly for their hard work and dedication all year. Thank you to all the players for their efforts over 2018 and hopefully with renewed optimism and dedication the new season in 2019 will bring lots of success.
