Mattie McGleenan has challenged his Cavan players to bounce back from their Ulster SFC preliminary round defeat to Donegal.

Last year, the Breffnimen failed to raise a gallop in the All-Ireland qualifiers after losing to Monaghan in Ulster and McGleenan doesn't want that to happen again.

"We will take a lot of learnings from this and go back to the drawing board," the Cavan manager said in the Irish News.

"The big thing at this point in time is last year when we went into the backdoor, our performances dropped off. That can't happen now.

"It will be a huge test of this football team, can we take the learning of today and go into the backdoor and show that our season isn't finished? That's the huge challenge that we have as a team going forward."
