Carlow midfielder Richard Coady is adamant that they must learn from their heavy defeat to Clare last weekend.

The Barrowsiders only trailed by six points at the break, but ended up losing by sixteen in the end and it was a sobering experience for Colm Bonnar’s charges.

Regardless of the loss, Coady believes that they must take something from every game that they play and he told the Carlow Nationalist that is the only way they can close the gap on the top teams.

“It is a quicker more physical type of hurling at a different speed. It is still only January and we haven’t a whole pile of hurling done to get to the pitch of the game,” said Coady.

He added: “We have to learn lessons, get back onto the field during the week and put them into practice. Hopefully, we will get a better run next Sunday.”
