"We're trying to look at it as another game"

St Mullins star Martin Kavanagh says there’s not much more they can do to try and prove that they can complete at the top level.

The Carlow champions have torn up the script in reaching Sunday’s Leinster club SHC final where All-Ireland champions Ballyhale Shamrocks are hotly fancied at odds of 1/14 to bring down the curtain on what has been a remarkable season for Kavanagh and his team mates.

“It’s mad. Both ourselves and Eire Og are having great runs. Eire Og beat the Kildare, Wexford and Laois champions. We beat Dublin and Laois,” he told the Irish Daily Star.

“We’re doing our best to make the point. If they don’t see now that we’re well able to compete at that level, there’s not much more we can do.

“It doesn’t much bigger than us, the best team in Ireland. Going for back-to-back. Everyone knows the name Ballyhale Shamrocks. We’re trying to look at it as another game.

“We’ve huge respect for them.”
