Chris Blake is hoping to bring the good times back to Eire Og after firing them into their first Leinster club SFC final in 21 years.

The full forward scored 1-4 as the Carlow town outfit produced a storming second half performance last Saturday night to beat Portlaoise and move within 60 minutes of a sixth provincial crown.

"I grew up listening to stories about all those Leinster winning teams, players like Morrissey, Quinlan, 'Smokey' Joe (Hayden), those lads were legends in the 1990s and now their sons are there; Jordan, Niall, Derek, it's unbelievable, a great club, I love it," he told the Irish Daily Mirror.

Asked about facing a much-fancied Ballyboden St Enda's side in the decider, Blake added: “No doubt we’ll be underdogs but I can guarantee we’ll go out and give it 100 per cent.”
