Looking any further than this weekend's clash against Carlow would be remiss of Limerick, according to their manager John Kiely.

The sides meet in the All-Ireland SHC preliminary quarterfinal at Netwatch Cullen Park on Saturday evening (7pm). Limerick go into the game as strong favourites to advance to the quarterfinal.

Not many give Carlow a chance of causing an upset as not only are they regarded as a lower ranked team, they have just won the inaugural Joe McDonagh Cup and preparations would have been difficult this week.

Nonetheless, Kiely stressed to the Limerick Leader that there will be no complacency or taking it for granted from his players.

"The bottom line is that this is a preliminary quarterfinal and we haven't qualified for the quarterfinals for a couple of years now," said Kiely. "This time last year and the year before we were finished and out of the championship so for us it is a huge thing to be part of the All-Ireland series and we want to stay in it for as long as we can, so we will be keeping 110% on Saturday night to ensure that we are still in the hung next Monday morning.

"This is a huge game for us. The prize is massive and our full focus is on Saturday night. We take it one game at a time and we are looking no further than Saturday night and that is the way it is - this is a knockout phase and we are just looking for a good performance on Saturday night and to ensure that is good enough to get us a win."
