Orla Cotter has spoken of her delight and relief at scoring the injury-time free that secured back-to-back O'Duffy Cups for Cork and their fourth in five years.

Cotter held her nerve to send over the free which Kilkenny manager Ann Downey felt should never have been awarded.

"We could have got a few other controversial frees during the day so look we'll take it, it went over the bar. I was happy enough," the match-winner said in an interview with RTE.

"I missed an easier one earlier. I knew there was only a minute or so left but I was just praying it went over and it did. I suppose myself and Chloe [Sigerson] put in plenty of time before training most days practicing our frees. Chloe hit some lovely ones today so it was fantastic.

"It's heartbreaking for Kilkenny, it's two years in-a-row and you must acknowledge that. They're a fantastic team."
