UCC camogie manager Shane Ronayne has accused his Cork senior counterpart Paudie Murray of stopping Meabh Cahalane and Hannah Looney from lining out for the students in their O'Connor Cup semi-final defeat to UL yesterday.

In an interview with Cork's Red FM, an irate Ronayne claimed that the duo were not permitted to play because of their involvement with Cork in today's National League semi-final against Limerick.

"We're disappointed with the fact that two of the Cork camogie panel were told they weren't allowed play with us today, two girls that would have started for UCC today. Meabh Cahalane and Hannah Looney," he said.

"The girls themselves were very disappointed over that. I just couldn't believe it during the week when we were told the news.

"I don't think it's very fair on the players involved. It's certainly a move that just has to be condemned. It's a move that we're very very angry about.

"It's very underhand of the Cork camogie management. I've no problem saying that."

Paudie Murray is expected to give his side of the story after today's National League semi-final.
