Waterford's Conor Gleeson after his red card against Cork

Waterford have decided not to appeal Conor Gleeson's suspension any further, ruling him out of next month's All-Ireland SHC final against Galway.

Gleeson's case to have the red card he received against Cork on August 13th reduced to a yellow was turned down by the Central Hearings Committee last night and Deise boss Derek McGrath has confirmed that they won't be taking the case to the Central Appeals Committee.

"We spoke in advance of the hearing last night and we spoke about possible outcomes in advance, and I won't say we've exhausted every outcome, but we've made a decision as a management - and player - to leave it at that now. That's basically it. We're concentrating on the game as such," McGrath is quoted saying by the Irish Examiner.
