Eamon O'Shea celebrates at the final whistle
Eamon O’Shea is set to return to the Tipperary senior hurling backroom team in a support role to the management.
O'Shea, who himself managed Tipp for three years, was a key figure in Liam Sheedy's backroom team when the Premier men captured the Liam MacCarthy Cup in 2010.
Tipperary county board confirmed the news via a press release tonight on its website, with chairman John Devane commenting:
“This is a positive development for our hurling squad. Eamon O’Shea has been a central figure in the evolution of Tipperary hurling over the past decade.
“While his involvement will be limited due to work commitments, the expertise and experience he will bring to the mix, even in a supporting role, will be invaluable.”
Sheedy, who himself returned to the county's hot-seat this season, stated:
“Eamon was one of the first people I talked to when it came to considering stepping back into this role again and we have remained in close contact since.
“He is a passionate Tipperary man and having him on board at any level is a great boost.”
