Michael Murphy managed Letterkenny IT (LYIT) to Trench Cup glory on Saturday.
It's another feather in the cap of the 2012 All-Ireland winning captain who has yet to feature for Donegal in this year's Allianz League after undergoing knee surgery last month.
LYIT beat GMIT in Friday's semi-final before seeing off old rivals DKIT in Saturday's final by 0-15 to 2-7 after finishing with a flourish.
“It’s a wee introduction to it but as I say, I look forward to getting back out to the playing field now," Murphy said in an interview with Highland Radio.
"Sitting watching and trying to learn from it is not great for the heart, put it that way! It’d be nicer to be out there in the thick of it.
“Credit to the lads, it’s all about them.”
