Galway's first championship win over Kerry in 53 years was tempered by a devastating injury for Paul Conroy.
The midfielder was stretchered off in the 23rd minute with a double leg break following an accidential collision with Sean O'Shea. Play was stopped for a lengthy period, resulting in eight minutes of injury-time being added on at the end of the first half.
The injury is set to rule Conroy out of the remainder of Galway's championship campaign.
