Patrickswell will open their Limerick SHC campaign tomorrow without one of their greatest servants.

Seven-time Daly Cup winner Barry Foley recently announced his retirement at the age of 40 and will be a loss to the 'Well who take on Adare in front of the eir Sport cameras at 4.45pm tomorrow. The former county star scored two points from midfield when Patrickswell ended a 13-year wait to beat Ballybrown in the 2016 county final.

Twelve teams go to post with Na Piarsaigh getting their title defence underway against Doon on Sunday - just four weeks since losing the All-Ireland club SHC final to Cuala after a replay. Former Limerick senior hurling coach Paul Beary has since taken over the managerial reins from Shane O'Neill.
