Kilkenny clubs face uncertainty over when they will be in competitive action next.

Like a small number of counties, Kilkenny opted to start their complex league/championship in April and played the opening round last weekend.

However, that is the last action many of those players will see for a couple of months at the very least.

The next rounds of the league/championship has not been scheduled yet and won't be until the outcome of Kilkenny's Leinster SHC round robin series is known.

The last round of the provincial campaign is the June 9th clash against Wexford meaning that club players are left twiddling their thumbs for at least eight weeks, but that will more than likely be longer as the Cats are favourites to come out of the group and progress to the All-Ireland series.

If remains to be seen if the second round will be scheduled in between the provincial and All-Ireland series' should the Cats get that far.

Some clubs in Kilkenny have decided to give their players a five-week break before coming back and knuckling down for the remainder of the year.
