Wexford 1-20

Dublin 0-16

Wexford came from five points down in the second half to beat 14-man Dublin at Parnell Park and set up a Walsh Cup final showdown with Kilkenny next Sunday.

The hosts were leading by 0-15 to 0-10 when a second yellow card for Paul Winters 14 minutes into the second half marked a major turning point in the game. The Dubs fell to pieces after that as Wexford reeled off 1-10 without reply to win comfortably in the end.

Pat Gilroy's charges led by 0-6 to 0-3 at the end of the first quarter thanks to five points (four frees) from Winters. Danny Sutcliffe scored a splendid point as the Dubs went ont to lead by 0-11 to 0-8 at the break, but within five minutes of Winters' dismissal, Cathal Dunbar netted for the visitors to reduce the deficit to the minimum.

Points from Paul Morris and David Dunne then gave Davy Fitzgerald's men the lead before Jack Guiney sent over three late points to complete the comeback.
