Armagh man Jason McGahan has played a key role in Kerry’s run to the 2019 All-Ireland SFC final.

McGahan, from Tullysaran, was unveiled as Kerry’s first Head of Athletic Development when new Kingdom manager Peter Keane named his backroom team last October. Having previously worked with Cian O’Neill in both Kerry and Kildare, the Armagh man is charged with overseeing the strength and conditioning of Kerry’s senior, U20, minor and development squads.

The 42-year-old represented the Orchard County at both minor and U21 levels and says he’d love to bring Sam back to Armagh if the Kingdom dethrone five-in-a-row-chasing Dublin in Croke Park this weekend:

“If the full-time whistle goes and we are one point ahead, I will turn around and try and find one or two Kerry officials in the crowd to try and make a plan to get the Sam Maguire to Tullysaran,” he told The Irish News.
