Crossmaglen manager Donal Murtagh is confident that his young guns are ready for the challenges they face in the Ulster club SFC.

Murtagh guided Cross’ to the Armagh title last month, despite the team going through a transition period over the last few years.

They now face Tyrone champions Coalisland at the Athletic Grounds on Saturday evening and Murtagh told the Belfast Telegraph that they are in a good place going into the game.

"We have had a young team coming through over this past couple of years, and maybe it was a bit early for things to happen for them, but they are starting to mature now," stressed Murtagh.

"We can see that. Our philosophy is that we play football as it is meant to be played. We won't play it any other way. Having said that, you can't be playing on top of your game all the time, there is always a going to be a blip of two along the line.

"There is quality in this side and our aim is to build on last month's county title success. We want to move on and tomorrow's game against Coalisland is a challenge that we are ready for."
