There was no separating Blessington and Arklow Geraldines-Ballymoney in the second Wicklow SFC semi-final at Aughrim yesterday.

Defending champions St Patrick's will have to wait another week to find out who their final opponents will be on Sunday 13 October after extra-time and, even a penalty shoot-out, couldn't decider a winner.

Blesso and AGB were level on 1-12 to 0-15 at the end of normal-time and were still deadlocked at the end of extra-time (2-14 to 0-20), with a flurry of late points from the latter's Christopher O'Brien forcing penalties.

Then more drama ensued at Joule Park when the shoot-out finished 4-4 after five penalties each. Both sides were set for 'sudden death' before Wicklow chairman Martin Fitzgerald called a halt to proceedings with a replay to take place next Saturday.

A similar situation happened in the Antrim SFC semi-final replay between Portglenone and Lamh Dhearg last Thursday night when county chairman Ciaran McCavana intervened during a free-taking competition.
