The derelict state of Casement Park has been highlighted by Antrim GAA as plans for a new state-of-the-art stadium have fallen four years behind schedule.

It has been one set-back after another for the proposed multi-million redevelopment of the west Belfast grounds and local GAA chiefs are, understandably, frustrated.

Planning permission was granted in 2014 but was subsequently quashed in a legal challenge.

A revised planning application was submitted by Ulster GAA and, back in January, Stormont officals were informed that work can't proceed without more public funding.

Civil servants were unable to allocate any extra money in the absence of the Northern Ireland power-sharing executive.

In the meantime, Casement Park has fallen into a state of disrepair and the pictures below are depressing viewing for Antrim and Ulster gaels...
